Georgetown Prep, 31st in the DigitalSports National Lacrosse Rankings, has come out on fire so far this season.
In the Hoyas opener, Georgetown crushed Middleburg Academy 16-3. The Hoyas controlled the ball throughout the game, suffocating the Dragons any time they touched the ball.
Taking its momentum into the next game, Georgetown dominated yet again in an 11-4 victory over St. John’s. Senior attackman Charlie Horning and junior midfielder Jack Olson both scored hat tricks and Horning added on an assist. Kyle Strang, a senior midfielder, added on another two goals.
Advancing to 2-0, Georgetown prepares to host St. Paul’s on March 14. The Crusaders, ranked 20th nationally, handed Georgetown its first defeat last year in a close 7-5 game. This year, the Hoyas look to turn the table on St. Paul’s and come out with a 3-0 record.
