The Georgetown Prep Hoyas hosted the St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes Saints in a league matchup on April 12th.
The Hoyas, who might have started off the 2013 season a little shaky has proven to be a contender after taking down St. Stephen’s Friday with a 6-2 victory.
The Hoyas opened the contest notching the first goal offensively, and played a sound defense holding the Saints at zero in the first quarter. The Saints came alive in the second quarter, finding the back of the net twice, but that was not enough to stop the Hoyas relentless offensive attack, who netted three goals themselves. Both teams headed to the locker room with the Georgetown Hoyas leading 4-2.
Both teams took the field in the second half and played a very tight and aggressive defense for the remainder of the game. The Hoyas held the Saints to zero goals in the second half, but were also able to score two more goals offensively against the Saint defense.
The final score was 6-2, and ended in a Hoyas victory. The Hoyas are now (11-4), they take the field next when they travel to Landon of Friday, April 19th. Georgetown prep is currently ranked #23 on the DigitalSports National Lacrosse Rankings, and looks to jump the chart.
